The Lord of the Rings: The Landscapes of Middle-Earth in 4K

This is a video I've been wanting to do for a very long time. When I heard last year that Peter Jackson and his team were working on a 4K remaster of the trilogy, I decided to hold off and wait until it had been released before beginning work on this video. I watched all three of the 4K remastered movies and selected some of my favorite shots that capture the beauty of Middle Earth and its territories. I then added the most fitting music I could find for each part of the video. Be sure to select the 4K option for the best experience. I hope you enjoy it!

Unfortunately, the HDR to SDR conversion wasn’t very good, so that’s why some of the highlights are blown out. Rest assured, when you watch the movie via the 4K UHD disc, it looks fantastic and the highlights and colors are much better than what is shown in this video.

Will we ever see a more perfect trilogy or hear a more perfect soundtrack in our lifetimes? I think not. The visuals, cinematography, the music, the artistry, the costumes, the story….just pure perfection. Nothing will ever come close to challenging the greatness of The Lord Of The Rings!

I remember sitting in a theatre as a teenager watching FOTR for the 1st time...
Right BEFORE the fellowship entered Moria a feeling came over me and I learned over to the person next to me and whispered, 'THIS IS THE GREATEST MOVIE I'VE EVER SEEN!'...
When I was watching the beacons of Gondor be lit I got that same feeling!
This IS the greatest trilogy ever filmed (and this is coming from a hardcore Star Wars fan)!

When you realize, all of these scenes were filmed in 1999. Its so impressive it still looks so good, even without the remaster in this video it still looks amazing

LoTR is just a timeless masterpiece, there is a balance between the use of practical effects and CGI in terms of the visuals. The musical scores are just beautiful as well. The Trilogy will be among the greats in the pantheon of movies for many years to come :)

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a LOTR landscape compilation as well done as this one. I’ve been on the fence on whether or not to buy the remastered edition but this video has convinced me. Thank you for making this!

This is one of the reasons the film was so damn appealing
Some of the camera zooms and expert shots, paint this very much as a real place and the restless energy of the camera is really beautifully done
It becomes Middle Earth as we viewed it in our minds from the book ... the forests, mountains and the huge structures on its surface - New Zealand 🇳🇿

Isn't it amazing how someone can even think of a story like this.. and then the story evolving into such a spectacular movie.. how do you even beat this? The ridiculous amount of detail.. the soundtrack.. everything is so insanely well thought out and executed
