Uruguay, Croatia and the Netherlands (by size) always produce the best talents despite their size and small population

I never knew Uruguay was so small. Their football legacy really elevates them to be much bigger.

Here is something crazy. Uruguay won the first two olympics they played and the first two world cups they played. They didn't play in 1934 or 1938. Some say it's because of fascism in Europe, others say it's because most european teams refused to travel to Uruguay for the first world cup and Uruguay did the same. They also didn't play in other olympic tournaments until 2012.
Point is, from 1924 until 1954 Uruguay didn't lose a single match in a worldwide competition. The first match they lost was called "the best football match ever" against that amazing Hungary team, where a uruguayan player famously had a heart attack while celebrating a goal, got back up and kept playing. Truly both David and Goliath.

This does not change the fact that in Australia there are 48 million kangaroos and in Uruguay there are 3, 457, 380 inhabitants. So if the kangaroos decide to invade Uruguay, each Uruguayan will have to fight 14 kangaroos.

The Cavani- Suarez partnership was special. For one team to have two killer number 9’s like this, it’s insane. They both played and proved their worth in different Europeans leagues as well. Dominant wherever they went under different managers, different systems…

If the world cup was played with teams that had players randomly selected from the country's population Uruguay would sweep every tournament.

Even though I’m Mexican, I always support Uruguay in the World Cup. Watched my first World Cup in 2010 and Forlan made me me fall in love with the sport.

Most underrated football country. Uruguay also has 2 big football clubs who've had international succes in the past. CA Peñarol and Nacional. Both from Montevideo. They both won 3 world titles (Intercontinental Cup). And they won the Copa Libertadores: CA Peñarol: 5 times, Nacional: 3 times!! Uruguay has a amazing football history. Both clubs and the national team.

You could make your case for Croatia. In the 32 years of it’s existence they participated in 6/7 WC and got medals in 3/6. Population 3.8 Million.

As a person whose favourite team is Uruguay, I'm really proud of them.

Edinson Cavani made me a fan of the game and I repay him by supporting Uruguay on every single occasion.

Netherlands never winning a World Cup is absolutely f*cking wild to me despite the abundance of God tier talent that little country has produced over the years.
