Fantastic video. I agree with all of them although for me, the biggest reason to use Reaper aren't just features itself but it's more the philosophy of the program and the philosophy of the people who made it. Reaper is hands down the most flexible and customizable and open without being open source. The fact the program adapts to me instead of me adapting to the program, the fact I can make it work the way I want instead of being constrained to workflows setup by developers, the fact i can customize to setup truly unique and fast and efficient workflow that I can't do anywhere else is a huge huge reason for me to use Reaper.

But When it comes to features, I'm not too worried about it, simply because pretty much every daw shares 70-80% of the same stuff but if there's something Reaper is missing today, IK I'll have it by tomorrow and it's because frequent free updates of Reaper from the official devs or the scripts and community made stuff in Reaper. There are pretty much bajillion of community made scripts for Reaper which emulates features that vanilla Reaper doesn't have compared to other DAWs or features that no other DAW has so you can create a truly customized and unique workflows no other DAW has and since there are so many people making very powerful and cool scripts, no company can keep up with the development pace of the scripting community of Reaper (Ik there are scripts in other DAWs as well but no DAW has this level scripting capabilities as Reaper). And again pretty much all themes, JSFX and scripts for Reaper are free.

thanks to my computer in 2018 that could not handle process in ableton then I quickly found reaper and learned since then. And everyday with your videos and reaper mania and others, I am amazed how you can do everything in it(even tho ableton and others DAW are nice)... just when I see someone using cubase I have one internal disgusting feeling haha. Dope man!

At 18:00, what is the single octave keyword on the lower left of the screen? I assume it has something to do with media explorer.

"XEL, could you help me please? When I put my 808s, they blend together and it sounds awful. Is there any feature in Reaper or any way to do something similar to FL Studio's 'Cut itself'? So that when a new 808 plays, the previous one stops? To prevent their frequencies from blending together? Thank you, man 😊🙂

Good stuff. Jeez, I forgot all about the stretch markers. They are a powerful feature ie with dynamic split
I use the project tabs quite a bit, for making synth presets. It always amazes me I can copy a track with instrument, effects etc.. and paste it into another project tab

For me - it's just made from regular person, for regular people (sorry for broken English)

I have virtual loopback on my presonus AR12, very handy, Reaper is dope in many ways. In Bitwig you can't even make a mono sample out of a stereo one without tedious workarounds

didn't know about the loopback function, thanks

hey since you mentioned Cakewalk, do you have a tip for tweaking Reaper's MIDI step sequencer to look more like Cakewalk? any theme which would use regular squares grid for making MIDI beats, not diamonds/arrows on piano roll ? cheers

Great vid, quick question, Can you set up a track to also automatically add icons as well as colour? So if you add a track and call it symbols, it automatically adds an icon for symbols.
