The 227kw v8 in the lc200 in australia, was underpowered, and expensive, and the 100 was horribly made with fuel figures hitting 9mpg on some conditions, and the 300 improved both issues, but could have had a better potential to counter upcoming models, since they knew the y62 patrol, its main rival, was already outdating, yet compared to the lc200, still had more torque and around 90 more hp, and still average similar mpg.
