Dr. Michael Chan, neurosurgeon at Mercy Hospital in Sacramento, CA, gives an excellent "Chiari 101" lecture. Learn how Chiari malformation is diagnosed and treated in patients and the common surgical treatment methods-- specifically, posterior fossa decompression, sometimes simply called a Chiari decompression. Dr. Chan also describes what patients and families can expect before, during and after Chiari surgery.

Because of him I can walk again. In 2020 I ended up with a crushed c5 vertebrae. After a fusion and laminectomy I went from wheelchair to walker to cane to walking again. Have clonus in my left leg too. Thank you Dr Chan!
