In day trading, you want to see stocks making extreme moves. That volatility can mean opportunity, and volatile stocks move fast!

SemiLEDs Corporation (NASDAQ: LEDS) is a great example. Check its chart in the video. This stock skipped dollars per share in a matter of minutes.

Remember, in day trading, you’re joining the crowd. Everyone’s fixated on the same stock. The more buyers and short sellers, the better.

Great lesson, Tim! I imagine this is gonna get a lot of views from all the folks who got into the action of trading only recently. "Volatility" is a word I hardly ever heard, let alone spoke, before I started dipping my toes into the trading world. There came a point in which, although I knew the dictionary meaning, I had to google "volatility" and "stocks." Given this last week or two, that word is going to searched-for increasingly. The word itself has become pretty charged, as it characterizes what many feel we're fighting. The thing is, you've always approached your subject matters from an unexpected angle... here, you're not complaining about getting your organs loped off by cryptos and the Goliaths' raid on growth stock; you're locating opportunities and teaching about learning to see opportunities where others see blood, guts, and defeat. You frame volatility as painful--no doubt, because it is--but compare it to the worst form of torture: sideways trading, the hell of nothing happening. Ditto! At least communities can form around certain stocks that are being forced to the bottom of the lake by volatility... so many live streams centered around vulnerable and specific stocks. It's pretty wonderful. But we're not going to find a community that will gather for a live stream chat at power hour to watch ticker DHT inch with glacial slowness toward its one-year anniversary of of insistently inscribing a a straight line across the 1 YR chart. I suppose we can appreciate how it barely even vibrated historical forces plucked all those notes of dissonance--COVID, election mania, lock downs, cabin fever, capital raids--into our ringing ears. Still, communities down gather for the impervious flat-liners; we love the ones that sink or sling shot themselves toward the moon. Thanks for your work, and I'm sorry I hijacked your real estate here. I had fun.

On the vwap/hod break. If the range between the hod and vwap is big. Is best practice to scale in with a reclaim of vwap and then go all in at the hod break
