I do not agree with using any red, orange, or yellow colors for use as under-layers in landscapes, or landscape paintings (as was done here), unless it has to do with, and for, a particular special effect in a specific area. It only detracts from natural colors and tones, and diverts the eyes from the overall effects of the rest of the painting of what both the artist, and the painting is trying to portray. Not even mother nature will do so unless it is absolutely necessary. So, use only earth tones and colors as well as black, blue, white, gray, brown, green, or shades thereof instead. Neither do I agree with using a white outer border frame upon a painting such as a night sky as it immediately stands out like a sore thumb, and draws the eye like a magnet over to the outer border frame instead of keeping the eyes upon the painting itself, and that of which the artist has spent to many hours, days, months, or years working upon. Use only a subdued color, or color tones for an outer border frame such as brown, tan, dull antique gold etc. If you are in doubt, then pay attention from now on, and watch what happens to where your eyes are immediately drawn to like a magnet, and how much they stand out like a sore thumb in pictures with those types of things of which I've mentioned.
