Neighbors in disbelief after arrest of Line Fire suspect

People in the Norco community where the 34-year-old man arrested in connection with the now 36,000-acre Line Fire expressed their disbelief at the possibility that he could have started the blaze.

WTF? I had to stay in a hotel for 3 days. There are hundreds of firefighters risking their lives, spending who knows how many man hours and resources. Planes and helicopters doing runs over the fire constantly so this guy could get his jollies off? What kind of sicko does this? Houses burned down. People got hurt. People might still get hurt or even die by the time this is over. I hope the judge shows no mercy on this guy. We have enough problems without people intentionally starting wildfires.

I was evacuated yesterday near the bridge fire. We were told to grab what we could and go. We had minutes to leave. I still have no clue whether or not i have a home to go back to. My heart goes out to the woman who lost it all!

I grew up in Norco. I am sick watching the news from Michigan everyday. My daughter is still in Cali. And to watch this heartbreaking story is beyond me, the lives, all the animals, just the devastation. I don’t understand how any human can be so heartless.

Many people say fires start spontaneously from lightning, downed wires etc. and I'm sure thats true sometimes, but i have always suspected most fires start by pyros lighting them.
