I don't understand why some people think VR will fail. I bet they haven't even tried it. There is so many great games out recently, I bearly play on a monitor nowdays. I recommend From Other Suns, pretty good game and a lot of fun playing multiplayer.

BTW, Bethesda is blocking it's games for Rift. LOL... How childish.

I definitely feel that VR will stick around. As you stated, it's gotten into industries outside of gaming (although honestly, a lot of those industies will benefit from much more advanced AR, but that advanced AR could rely on VR tech evolving first). A lot of people are doubting VR just like they did cell phones, the internet, and plenty of other inventions that revolutionized the world. When cell phones first came out as big bricks, not everyone had one. They were a cool gimmick to have your phone mobile, but they were a brick! Who would have wanted that?! But now you look and just about everyone has a cell phone (most of which are smart phones, which also took a bit of time to get off the ground). Similarly to the internet, I'm positive there were conversations between people, one person would say "Why would i try to look something up on my computer when i could just pull out the encyclopedia and find the information right away?" Remember, dial-up was some of the best internet in the beginning, and there wasn't anywhere near the amount of information that we have now. (Quick note: My uncle had a friend ask him about the internet when it was just becoming slightly popular, probably less popular than VR currently is, and he replied that it was just a fad that would blow over. These conversations happened by the same types of people).

VR is revolutionizing so many industries, and once a Full-Dive VR generation comes about (which honestly is probably more than a decade away, like going from the cell phone to the smart phone), that will add even more revolution to each industry. I'm not going to say that I'm impressed by current rift content, but the vive and psvr have a few fantastic games and experiences. There's gonna be people who don't ever really adopt it for gaming, but VR will be prevalent basically everywhere. We've literally been dreaming about this as nerds since star trek started. It'll just take some time for the adoption rate to climb.

Nice video Epyx, but no opinion on Rift Core 2.0? I've been waiting to hear what you think (I'm loving it).

A couple of questions regarding the Striker: How do you reload? How do you interact with objects in your environment? How do you grab your backup weapons/items?

Reminds me, I've got to push for killing off the creeping charlie this coming season in spring. It's choking out my yard.

Agree 100% it's all the smaller bits put together that is guaranteeing the success of VR at this point. I'm so stoked about that!

I believe there are still a lot of people out there who haven't adopted VR yet because of cost. I am one of them, l have tried it at my local VR arcade and loved it. I would definitely get an HMD now but for the cost which is prohibitive for me at the moment. Yes, I know the cost of both Rift and Vive have come down since launch, which is great. The added cost for me is the need for a new graphics card. So I guess I'm saying that I believe VR is here to stay and will get better and eventually become mainstream.

I've just completed RE7 twice and played mostly in VR and I must say that PSVR is not perfect as of today but the experience is awesome even on current hardware. I believe VR is here to stay, maybe not mainstream today but tomorrow for sure.

You said AND at the spun my organised world out of sync..lol. I'm hoping fallout 4 vr will work on lesser spec gpus. As a 970 owner, it's disappointing that the 1070 is the minimum. Is this a backstep as it will pump up the cost of vr gaming due to massive cost of graphics card to run this AAA game? How on earth will this work on a psvr? We will see.
Vr is here to stay as a slow burner technology. Great vid.

Cheers Epyx, if you do have the chance I would greatly appreciate if you were to benchmark or at least try to run FO4VR with the 1060. That is of course if that is one of the cards you happen to own. Surprised to see the 1070 as minimum.

I want re7 but I'm afraid I won't like it because of the lack of motion controls. I'm sure it will be good but it would be a lot better with motion controls

Resident Evil VR is amazing, can't wait to play it again on the Rift.

I hope it will stay. In my experience most people who I introduce to VR love it and finally understand what it actually is. Personally, I find gaming on a flat monitor just doesn't do it for me anymore in terms of enjoyment. However, mass adoption is a little off yet as people here have commented due to the cost and technology issues. I think it will come, but not next year!

Ok that was a great show but way to short. I poured my beer, sat down litened with a huge grin as I enjoyed the topics and before you now it its over and I had 3/4 of my beer left. Seriiously though your shows are enjoyable to watch and listen too. The wishing it was longer speaks to the fact you know how to carry your shows that keeps my intetest all throughout. the show.
