Katie, this looks like so much fun!!! We used Apologia General Science in CO-OP and it was super intense!

We did this one when Katie was in 4th grade. We both enjoyed it.

I'm going to have to look into this. Looks like a fun year!

It's funny, I was least looking forward to this one of all the Apologia...but it was one of the most fun! There were soooo many experiments!

My oldest 15 will be doing Biology this year but she is very independent when it comes to her work. I will just have to work with my 11, 13, 6, and 3 year old. I figure my younger kids can sit in on the experiments and listen to the audio version. One science unit with all kids is all I can accomplish as I am having a baby In July. My son needs the help when it comes to writing as well, but the note booking journals seem so much fun.

I just wanted to thank you so much for your Easter homeschooling suggestions!!! We have had the best time of our homeschooling journey thus far with these resources. You are such a blessing to me and my family! Thanks again for posting the Easter curriculum it's really been preparing my heart for Easter as well. This is going to be a great Easter because you put your recommendations on YouTube. We are doing just about everyone you suggested. Thanks again from the bottom of my heart.

I really like this book. I felt like it way more activities.

I like the TRY THIS part. We just have a composition notebook and write our own thing/draw our own pictures. That way, we keep it as a keepsake and I can easily see their writing improve. Plus it's cheap. I could see how that would get overwhelming with multiple kids.

I don't think we've ever gotten the junior notebooking journal for any of these, so it was interesting to see what the differences/similarities were.

I loved Astronomy. We made our own lapbook with just a one page spread for each chapter. I made it or got freebies off TpT or other sites which worked well for us. I just didn’t love that it was one science topic per year. My daughter liked it, but wanted to know about various topics. I definitely will keep it in mind though as she gets a little older. I definitely would get the notebooks too! It was quite a bit of work to pull together the pieces to our lapbook myself. But the ex-classroom teacher in me enjoyed creating things. ♥️👍🏻

We have this same book, I don't think my mom has actually used it yet. Fun topics, and a great way to build a foundation for later on, doing high school-level chemistry and physics.

It looks amazing, Chemistry and physics is a very hands on topic. Definitely come back and let us know how you like it

Before I say what I will say, I am not judging you.

I find it funny that this science curriculum which supports creationism (which I don't believe in) is better than the science books I used in school. Main reason- the books were old and outdated. Plus the teachers were awful. This is what happens when teachers only care about a paycheck

Hi 👋 Thanks for the great flip through :)
I’m considering this for next year for my youngest who will be 9 and in Gr.3

Do you think this is too advanced for this age group ?
He is a reluctant writer - he doesn’t like the physical aspect of actually writing - would the Jr. Notebook be an appropriate choice ?

He loved experiments so it’s great to hear there are lots of those included :)

We are doing chemistry and physics this year too! One tip from a good friend of mine that is teaching it at co-op. She said to start gather supplies now for the experiments or consider buying the lab kit because Covid has made it difficult to find some of the things.

Would this be a good curriculum for ages 11 and 13? We have been using the good and the beautiful science units but I want something more since my kids are getting older. My son wants to do chemistry this year and likes a lot of hands on science. We haven’t studied chemistry, so I wonder if this would be a good fit for my kids.
