I had to set up a garden in a hurry last summer. I grabbed some grow bags and a round blue plastic kiddie pool. I set the grow bags in the pool and filled it to a point. Drilled a hole in the side of the pool to prevent it from getting too full. My tomatoes and various peppers did pretty well. I had some leftover foam insulation so I cut it to cover the exposed water in the pool. This year, I'm going with the Birdies raised beds and making them self-watering. This is fun!

I had the exact problem this hot and dry weather using 7 gallon grow bags for tomatoes here in SC. Watering twice a day they didn't survive long into the summer and like you, I got tired of all the watering. I now have 4 of the metal raised beds that will still require more water than in ground but should be better than the fabric bags. Good luck with yours.

I agree, the grow bags seem like a good idea & are, for winter, spring planting, but they are so hard to keep hydrated in summer into autumn..
Raised beds are much better at keeping that consistency. Great job & can’t wait to see how your plants grow for the season ahead

The prices on Birdies raised beds are unbelieveably high! Even with the price of wood it would be cheaper! No thanks.
