3:30 If you hook the ground to the calibration signal and the probe to ground, you cannot expect to see the calibration signal. Furthermore, if you doing a probe compensation, never use that wire with aligator clip to connect ground to the probe, use the spring instead, or just remove that hook and squeeze the tip and sleeve of your probe between the cal out and ground terminal.

Looks like this scope was specifically designed for "out on location" work with the rubberized cover around the body of the scope to protect it. Nice piece of gear.
Thanks for the quick peak; looking forward for a more in-depth review. Have a peaceful weekend Paul.

You were putting the probe tip on the ground of the probe compensation and the ground on the signal tab.
That might be the problem?

That is one sweet scope. Looking forward to more videos with this scope. Take care, Paul.

you need to change the attenuation in the test point to get the full bandwith. when you are using X1 attenuation the the bandwith usually is not more than 6 MHz in common low cost ones, but when you use X10 you will get the full bandwith of test point, but an attenuated signal.

Looks super cool for a 4-channel. Love my HDS272S 2-channels compact size.

Thats is an excellent scope its a pity that its so pricey cos a tool like that could really help beginners to understand frequency and wave formation. Im just glad we have you to explain it all in small understandable portions. PS. Your voice seems to be improving day by day and I hope you're feeling much better, may your god bless you. 🖖

Hello, may be for the calibration probes, you must inverse. Crocodile on the ground, not sure it is your connection.

According to the spec sheet I saw, when you use 14bit mode, it only supports 100Msps, even with just one channel. 100Msps means you can't actually measure any frequency over 50MHz, which explains the seemingly poor results, especially on the 100MHz signal (which is really showing aliasing of the signal). Could you try repeating the measurements in 8-bit mode, so you get the full 1Gsps and thus the full actual bandwidth?

I think this is the one to get for sure.. The pinch to zoom.. the 14 bit resolution. It's better than the top Micsig that are 4x the price.

If it is a 100 Mhz scope should it not handle a 100 Mhz signal with no attenuation? -3db should happen over 100 Mhz? Hmmm.

Great scope if you really need the tablet format.
If the main use is the workbench I don't think this is the best choice.
Makes me wonder who would pay the same amount for a used Fluke 199, when you can get this brand new?

Hello, for use the square signal from the scope, you juste have to plug it by the right way. It’s not a good idea to put the ground to the signal pin. :-)

My wild guess about the wrong reading of the 28MHz signal: if you look at the wave form, you will see that it is a smaller wave followed by a larger wave (voltage-wise). I guess the scope considered the entity "small wave + large wave" as one period and hence gives a reading of 14MHz. Does this make any sense?

did you ever do a second video on this? I can’t seem to find it because I’m possibly a dumb dumb

everyone shouting at the screen "YOU HOOKED UP THE PROBES WRONG" YOU HAD THEM BACKWARDS WHEN YOU HOOKED UM UP ON THE SCOPE AT THE START OF THE VIDEO... VERY SURPRISED YOU MISS THAT PAUL, !! THAT'S NOT LIKE YOU.. : (
LOVELY SCOPE THOUGH. 4 CHANNELS, FFT, THE BAG NOT THE WORST IV SEEN EITHER. (would have been nice if it was hard plastic instead of the material, but still better then no bah at all)
YES LIKE THIS ONE...
👍

That does look nice. Quality, fit, finish, ergonomics all look pretty good to me. I am looking forward to the deep dive in the future.

Enjoyed this review and def a niche product that has field applications IMO. Happy Friday!

Certainly beats my old analog Tektronix for features.
