Even in real life, Eula has received backlash from some Genshin Impact fans because of her Lawrence backstory. This happened a few days prior to her debut, back in Version 1.5. When Hoyoverse released her "character teaser" video though, it didn't take long for Eula to change everyone's opinion on her. The community was captivated by her elegant sneeze and this also sparked the beginning of a wide variety of memes. Eula has even been mistreated by hoyoverse. It took 568 days for her second rerun banner to take place, after the end of her previous one. Not to mention that her second rerun banner was released right before Fontaine. I am not an Eula main but I really like her personality and her gameplay style. SekaiSamurai you have done a great job analyzing her backstory. Keep up the good work and take it easy.

It's such a shame they didn't go into Eula's background more in the event. In particular the Lawrence clan has a very honorable history apart from that little blip a thousand years ago. With the demise of the Imunlaukr clan they seem to be the oldest clan with traditions dating back to before the fall of Decarabian. Eula's dance and her crest date from this era about 3000 years ago before the Gunnhildr clan joined them in worship of the God of Time. At that time the signature weapon of the clan was the bow and they were hunters in the frozen wastes of Mondstadt. The dance Eula learned (despite the clan itself now putting it one a low priority) dates to those early days and the forms of worship at the 1000 winds temple. People shouldn't throw away 3000 years of history over a blip a mere 10 centuries ago. Eula has a link to the past of Mondstadt that no other character has. Since she knows full well the history of the crest and the dance how can she distance herself entirely from the clan name?

Also the gladiatorial thing wasn't much of a stretch from how the old worship of the God of Time went. Remember that the Imunlaukr clan believed that bloody combat was the best way to honor the gods. Which might be why they're all dead now of course.

Pretty hypocrital how Mondstadt, the city of freedom, still treats Eula as if the trash of the world and refuaes to aknowledge her as her own person.
