A journey into the future - to give you a better understanding why to explore (and invest in) space.
Dr. Roey Tzezana is a futures studies researcher at Blavatnik Center at Tel Aviv University, and is acting as lead researcher in XPRIZE – an organization that creates massive competitions with tens of millions of dollars in prizes, to solve humanity’s greatest challenges. Dr. Tzezana led the research in the organization about human longevity, which should eventually, hopefully, lead to the development of treatments to stop and reverse aging.
Dr. Tzezana is acting as a scientific consultant to several firms and international organizations (including the prestigious World Future Society), and is a member in high-ranking future-focused bodies like TechCast and the Millennium Project.
Dr. Tzezana is the author of several best-selling books about the future of technology and society. His books have been translated to several languages, and the latest one has been described by the Israeli Secretary of Treasury as “a book that every politician should read”. He is also the creator of several TED-ED clips, has lectured in two TEDx conferences, and is a highly-read writer on Quora.
Dr. Tzezana has co-founded the SimPolitix project for political forecasting and TeleBuddy - a firm that operates telepresence robots around the globe, allowing him to teach, lecture and live in three different continents at the same time, using robotic avatars as his bodies. Altogether he has delivered nearly 300 lectures in his various robotic bodies.
His research has led him to journey worldwide - from Kazakhstan to Latin America and even Antarctica (where he became one of the few people in the world to capture pokemon on that barren continent) - trying to understanding how technology will impact humanity and reshape our society and institutions.
As part of his exploration of the future, Dr. Tzezana has also provided consultation about the future of technology and society to many international firms and organizations, including AbbVie, Bayer, and CMPC. He also took a leading part in creating Israel’s strategic AI plan, under the auspices of the Shmuel Ne’eman Institute, and in highlighting both the opportunities and the challenges in this space for the nation. He has also led the creation of the ‘future-oriented floor’ and simulations in the Shimon Peres’ Center for Peace and Innovation.
