The one thing, people who use these systems fail to emphasize, is that the water temperature in the reservoir needs to be kept under 70 degrees F. If you have the reservoir in your grow room and the temperature is frequently above 70 degrees F in the room, it’s usually 75-80 in my room, then you need to buy a water chiller for your reservoir.
If you let the water temps in the reservoir get above 70 F. and it stays there, bad bacteria starts to grow, depletes oxygen in the water and your plants will die. This is not something you can ignore. It’s REQUIRED that you keep those temps down in the reservoir.
Also you can’t put something like hydrogen peroxide in the water to kill the bad bacteria in the reservoir because then that water will kill the good bacteria in your medium when the pots are watered. Autopot is a great system, if you use it right! Either you keep your room temps below 70F or you get a chiller.
