Fishing With BERKLEY NANOFIL [Ultralight Line]

Choosing the best line for your ultralight fishing setup can be a bit intimidating because there are so many options on the market! I have talked about ultralight fishing line in the past but decided to take it a step further and start making videos on individual line types. In these videos, I will simply share my personal experiences and opinions on each type. Just to be clear, you ultimately need to make a decision for you and your style of fishing, but I hope these videos will help you make the most informed decision!

Overall, the 6lb Berkley NanoFil is definitely a high quality line and is probably the most unique line I have used yet. It casts light weights well, has low stretch, is sensitive, and is offered in high visibility so you can detect bites visually. That said, it can also be prone to damage from fishing around cover (more so than braid) and it is very prone to knot slippage due to the unique texture. While these two issues are not a huge deal, I personally prefer to spend roughly the same amount of money on a high quality braided fishing line. I feel that braid can do almost. everything NanoFil does except with less issues, so that is the route I will be taking in the future.
