How to update your location for YouTube TV | US Only

Even when I "sign in" to YTTV every 90 days from my home area, I still get the prompt "can't let you watch ANYTHING until to sign in in your home area" (or some such nonsense).

All these location requirements are 100% crap. YTTV users (esp travelers) are inconvenienced/harrassed by these restrictions, seemingly, NON STOP. And for what? So someone somewhere can make another nickel? The WHOLE IDEA behind YTTV was that it could be PORTABLE, that a person did not need to be TIED DOWN to a legacy cable TV provider. C'mon Youtube - flex some muscle, support your customers, and tell the location restriction police to take a hike. Good grief, it's 2023, and there's these things called MOBILE phones.

I canceled my YOUTUBE TV app today. I pay $80 per month to watch local channels which I have not been able to access for almost a month. I think it is unfortunate YOUTUBE TV makes no way to contact them by phone so you can talk to a person. Guess they do not want to listen to people complain. BAD

This is the worst part of YT TV. You should be able to select any area that you want. Being forced into a location that you don’t want to watch is BS. I moved a short distance and it forced me to a different cities sports and news channels! No way to get back the same local news and sports that I was used to even when I live in the same area! Bonkers! 🙃

I have updated my zip code (entered incorrectly by YouTube) but I continue to receive incorrect local TV stations. How long does it take from the update in my account to seeing results?

I agree with Bill. My home area changes for no reason. My home area should be Indianapolis, My home area is 47960. I don't understand why it keeps changing It is irritating to not be able to watch Indianapolis stations

My YouTube TV surprisingly switched my home viewing area. I want my old home viewing area.

We've been in the same viewing area for local channels as our home and we're still being prompted to allow location. My wife has been viewing in the hospital near our home for a few days and she started getting prompted for the location. I'm still watching at home an hour or two a day while she's been in the hospital and no prompt for location. So what's the dang deal?

So is there a reason as to why my playback area keeps switching from Columbus to Pittsburg even though nothing changed? I didn't travel anywhere, I didn't use youtube tv anywhere else besides my home. Also, is there a good reason as to why it is impossible to send an email to customer support? Why is there no such option? And you just raised the price?

What if I want to watch my HOME tv lineup when away from home? I don't necessarily want to watch the local tv lineup of where I am visiting.

Ads on YouTube are an utter disgrace. Ad bombing every 15 seconds per 39 seconds is unacceptable. In fact I gave up on a video because of ad bombing. Dang, is YouTube THIS money hungry?

This is such BS. My ISP address is a dynamic address, it switches back and forth between my actual home area and another city in an adjacent state. Not only this, but when accessing YTTV from my desktop computer, the "PLAYBACK AREA is listed in the adjacent state while that setting accessed from my TV has the correct "Playback Area". My computer and my TV are less than ten feet apart, but one is in Georgia and the other is in Alabama. Since the ISP is dynamic and currently indicating my location as being in an adjacent state, I am not allowed to update the playback area on my computer because "I have to BE IN THE HOME AREA to make the change. I AM IN MY HOME AREA!! If YOUTUBE was not linked to this ridiculous situation, I would just cancel the subscription and buy an Over the Air antenna for local programming. ALL other tv programming can be accessed via other services. I guess I'm paying my subscritption for YTTV just to get regular Youtube on my tv. I'm tired of talking to YTTV support trying to resolve this issue.

I have followed the update area instructions and it doesn't give me any options to update my location . I have moved from my original area location that I had it set up in and i can't change it to my current location therefore im not getting channels i would if my location area was set right! arghhh so frustrating have been trying to update my current location that I have moved to for months!! can anyone help?!!
