I clearly see the other X-Men as good guys, I think every book tells a point of view of the story, when the Avengers "attacked" the Jean Grey School in search for Hope in X-Men: Legacy they were treated as bad guys. In the main book you can perfeclty see how Magneto, Professor X, Storm and other mutants are against the Phoenix Five.

In an actual fight I'd have to side with the X-Men. Jean Grey, Iceman, and Rouge are more dangerous than most people think. (i'm talking about the movies if you didn't know)
