In this video, explain why retail arbitrage on Amazon FBA is a risky and time-consuming side hustle for beginners. I'll cover the challenges involved, including low profit margins, price tanking and Amazon returns. I'll provide a few other better options to get started that are way better side hustles than retail arbitrage imo.

You’re a real one for making this video. I’ve constantly had this issue when I was selling on Amazon fba and that’s what would lead me to do it less and less until I finally stopped. The beginners really don’t know that the price tanks on all the products in the beginning and think that they are going to be making bigger profits when that’s not always the case. Great video. 🤙

I wish I can tag my bro in this… so many people bashing it and bro is making 10k a month in profit doing this.. sadly most people ether start and give up after the first 4months like rome was built in a day.. then others constantly make bad choices on products because they don’t understand the process and last.. they are not dedicated. This is not a get Rich quick.. it’s Supply and demand, Buy low and sell high. 😂😂 the oldest buisiness model in the book. How could it not work

I get an employee discount at a chain and then I realized it only is profitable for me to flip things like a half off - plus employee discount - off a Ralph Lauren lamp for example - but it takes $$$ to sit on it - I’ve sold several on eBay for $250-$300 new and $86-$125 used / damaged but I had to invest $50-$106 per lamp depending on the size/condition and that’s not something I recommend doing if you don’t have extra funds to do that - and I sell maybe 3 or 4 lamps a month - NICE profit - but it’s not instant usually - and even when it’s fast the shipping and packing is pretty intense. I have them pay for shipping but it’s an intensive experience to make sure it gets there undamaged. THANK YOU FOR THE VID. I subbed. And your info is super helpful. I’ve also sold the viral food stools and a couple viral things but I could never make a living on this - as an employee I see how arbitrary the prices are and the sales are only amazing maybe the rare 5% of the time to make it worth it. I have seasonal stock that will sit another year and only sell because of scarcity. I so prefer doing majority THRIFTING reselling and try to get the best prices 💪🏼 and for new things we try to hand make small furniture and small home accents etc - trying to keep things wide so we can save up for our future together - and flipping and reselling I’m learning requires a ton of work but it’s worth it to not give up and really try it

As someone who does a little bit of retail arbitrage this couldn’t be any more accurate, great video

Sheesh, great perspective although I’ve been lucky doing RA. Gotta start looking into different marketplaces and products. Great video thanks

They are making tik tok videos and making 3k a month from the fake arbitrage videos. Thats the play

You nailed it!

I prefer to flip stuff onto eBay. But I need to start hitting garage sales. I also need to pay more attention to marketplace and offer up.

One thing I’ve done on FBA is, knowing that an item was out of production, I kept my price up until everyone else had sold out at the lower price and then bumped mine up slightly. Yeah I had the inventory for like 6 months longer but kept the return on my investment.

So what alternative do you recommend while still selling on Amazon fba?

Yeah its an availability thing. Often times a lot of these stores get the same things. People buy more than they can afford to sit on and the only lever they have to make it sell faster is to lower the price. What you do is protected by scarcity, but also costs more so there's a barrier to entry vs a 20 dollar item at ross. Always love your vids zach all the best. Because of you I've added a second stream of income. Cheers

I do like the info of the video but also you have Seller AMP an other options to be able to gauge the sells of the item. You also can see past sales an info for items that particular item could have had an inflated price because their wasn’t as many people selling an then went back to its original price. Fba is definitely not for everyone but you definitely can make good money if you run it like a business instead of a the fastest way to make a quick buck. But it’s different for everyone

Same thing with online arbitrage, I really f/w this video it shows the realness when it comes to selling. I’m just stacking up my bread then using the money towards another business venture.

Learned a lot from this! I do a lot of eBay to amazon as well, the only RA I do is thrifting, I could definitely enjoy having a list of items to look for locally, never really got into that.

Personally if you only have a couple hundred dollars I don’t think you should look at FBA anyways. Once you have enough inventory Everything sells in rotation and you can be patient if price tanks til it goes back up. It’s really matter of how fast you want your return. FBA is def not the place for quick flips. Though sometimes items do sell fast. Also, you can actually find a lot of profitable items over 100% ROI. And if you do enough RA, you can find replenish-able products you can keep sending over and over again. What I’m trying to say is you suck at RA. Jk lol

Thank you for this video because the other people always make it seem good. I’m an Amazon seller and this happen to me 2 times but I like to sell my items fast. Some people like to sit on items waiting for the big bucks.

Thanks for helping us understand how others are playing off of our ignorance. I always wondered why these people sold courses on this topic when they make $200k a year. Subbed. I plan on trying to figure out if I can do retail arbitrage just by buying and selling products by driving to different stores and flipping them. How do you feel about this?

I go in checking for specific things so I am in and out. For example, Marshall's has Rae Dunn coffee mugs for $2 on clearance so I went in and grabbed them all. I walked past other sections but didn't waste a lot of time.

I also don't understand how people do shoes. They remove the origianl tags so I don't know how you identify them and pull data.
