I don't think this will ever change. beauty standards are insane and people will always find something new to be insecure about. as an idol, their job is basically to be perfect (and/or to live up to the often extreme expectations the industry and the fans have for them) and I cannot imagine the pressure they are under.

99% of them have had ps. Like literally even if they begin with a naturally beautiful face, they’d still get it to make their features more sharp. Sometimes it’s bcuz they feel insecure, sometimes it’s because their company forces them to. Kpop is SO competitive and ppl need to realize the artist we know is probably the top 5% of idols in the industry. So for them it’s really not a big deal given the culture. For them, it’s a small risk to take that will contribute to a chance for success.

the fact that now idols getting all these much crazier procedures one after another till they look unrecognisable in a short period of time is just devastating.
the way so many idols got a lot of new changes like companies didn't want to let them alone and let them BE as they are. I don't know about yall but the mindset "plastic surgery - normal" isn't doing anything good. nobody is judging your idols, they're not bad, but what is done to them - it is bad

Teens getting surgery is so messed up. It probably leads to a lifetime of insecurities. My bias who (I shouldnt name) allegedly got a nose job at 15 and debuted that same year. His insanely beautiful but litteraly every year it seems like he’s getting more and more work done mind you he’s not even 25. It’s not a good exemple for kids. I’m 26 now and got into K-pop when I was 13; then I started to feel insecured about my looks too because how vocal the industry was about some unrealistic beauty standards.
Also these k beauty standards are litteraly the opposite of what an East Asian would look like naturally and that’s chocking.

Shocked that Lisa of BlackPink is not on this list. Maybe it is because she is not Korean. Anyways, it is sad when people think plastic surgery is a must and hate their natural looks to the point that they do everything to change their physical appearance. They have to remember that they can change their appearance but they can’t change their DNA. I am not against some minor enhancements as long as you are honest about it. But why have the courage to go under the knife and then lie about it. There are risks too as some have died on the surgery table. Shouldn’t your life and health be more important than physical appearances that are artificial and need to be maintained if you don’t want your face to get deformed over time?

What's sad to me is we're talking about children barely in their teens. Their faces and bodies are still developing when they have these surgeries. The human body isn't fully mature till our early 20s. A lot of those round faces were from baby fat.

Korea sees cosmetic surgery on the same level as bronzer. A lot of this is cultural. But the age at which it's treated so casually makes it hard to shrug off.
