There are actually 4 shiny mobs right now, not 2. In patch 1.1 they added 2 extra ones, the one that looks like an ice cube, and the one that looks like some kind of divine cougar or panther.
Also, right now they are not only skins, their usage is kinda niche, but they count as different echos, so you can get 2 echos of the same type with goods stats, and use the shiny skin in one of them so the set still triggers (which wouldn't happen if you repeat echos for your set)

I agree. Since genshin is starting to add item that could change stats, this is good way for wuwa to introduce similar mechanic but still good for the devs too. Since we will hunt more enemies in game if they start to implement this into the game. We will play their game longer and we got rewarded for it. Win win.

I definitely agree with you. I think kuro missed a really good opportunity with the shiny system, as you said there's no sense of accomplishment or rarity when finding shinies with the current system.

I liked the dungeon idea for mobs. I enjoyed thinking of the concept where mobs spawn in the dungeon following a specific algorithm (e.g., based on elite and lower-level mob element sets like fusion and electro). The dungeon would consist of waves, with each wave featuring a different box map and a 2-3 minute break between waves (the mode would have its own currency, and we would need to farm mobs each time). Choosing upgrades and finally facing a random boss at the end would make for a really great mode. I know it sounds like the illusive realm game mode, but this one is more aggressive and designed for co-op play.

Adding a pity to shiny encounters is the opposite of what a shiny represents. They are variants in a species that appear in the wild/universe randomly and unexpected. The astonishment of finding one surreptitiously(or even accidentally encountering one) has to invoke bewilderment at the odd phenomenon before the players. You don’t get this excitement at all from pity.

Make the shiny odds a reasonable 1/100 or 1/200 but NO PITY. There will be players who find a shiny in a specific species in under 10 tries, and players who will find a shiny in that same species in over 1, 000+ tries. But THATS the serendipity of it all.

Make the monster have a cool sparkle animation and don’t apply it as a skin for every non-shiny. Again it needs to feel exclusive and like an achievement. If every monster in that species can appear like the shiny then that also doesn’t make it feel exclusive or special at all either.

A shiny doesn’t need a guaranteed stat. It doesn’t need to have THIS, THIS, and THAT. Again, a shiny is just a variant of the species it’s in and it needs to also reflect the normalcy that occurs in its species. YES you may get garbage substats BUT if you get good stats then that’s extra bragging rights and camaraderie.

The color palate and shiny animation need to stand out to make up for the aforementioned shortcoming to make still want to be showed off—this is where Pokémon succeeds, which is important to take note of.

Therefore to reiterate. Shinies need to feel randomized and have its color palate be good(or at the very least juxtaposed) with good shiny animations to make players still want to use them. (They’re not meant to be better, they’re meant to be different)

Kuro added a new shiny in 1.1 for the Lightcrusher. I first ran into it at the time-frozen tree, but a few weeks ago I saw it again in a different location near a waypoint that I grabbed mats for Jinhsi.

I feel like Kuro is somewhat aware of these interesting ideas and many more features but they might be planning to release these things slowly so that they can increase hype in future updates and increase game's lifespan too.
