What's wrong with Austin's Zoning issues. You may have read that the city has the highest development fees in the state. That's only a start to the issues. In this interview, I sat down with Chris Affinito of Heartwood RE to talk about the issues that developers have with Austin's cluster of zoning requirements and Chris goes over how he tackles the entitlement of raw land and how his team uses some of the lesser-known solutions to their advantage when they are developing a lot in Austin. He also offers solutions as to what could be changed now to tackle the issues that Austin is experiencing. Affordability in Austin is one of the biggest issues and our city doesn't do much to solve these issues, despite it being around for several years.

I just got bill to build very basic small project in AUSTIN LIMITED Purpose and I was handed 27k bill just for site plan application and I was told I have 48 hours to come up with it like it was just pocket change. I was told it would be 6k when I submited the application this is just theft
