He Calls You Kacchan - A BKDK Animatic

It's finally done! I've been chipping away at this for several months by now, and I'm very happy to have finished it up. I learned a LOT during this process, and I'm looking forward to implementing all that in future projects. :D

So! For context, this video is a storyboarded sequence from a previously published fic that I wrote, myself. I wanted to board an entire scene, rather than just little bits and pieces like my previous music videos. And I thought, 'Well, I've already written a whole ass fanfic, I might as well just take a scene from there' and that's how I got here!

I chose a scene that had talking as well as action, so I could try to practice both at once. It's tough, but it's fun, and I can tell I can do a lot better in the future!

Sorry for the somewhat strange audio though! I didn't want to just have the whole thing be silence, but I didn't know WHAT to put in it's place since I don't have any voice actors or music making skills at the moment. So I thought I might as well practice some... audio editing, if you can call this that! And I just spliced together some free sound effects and Sonic the Hedgehog music that I thought fit the scenes relatively well lmao

I figure, if the sound isn't all that great, people can just watch the video on mute and get the same picture. But if you don't want dead silence, you've got options too!

As for what's happening in the manga right now... I believe Kacchan will get his chance to shine, just like Horikoshi said he would, so I'm not worried! He really is so cool though isn't he? No spoilers but I love him so much, and how loved he is in canon by so many other characters.

Oh and I guess I should link the actual fanfic here too, huh?

So no lie this is the first gay male ship that I’ve officially shipped. Being a straight male from a conservative family I sorta was always pressured to always find gay men disgusting and that if I didn’t then that made me gay as well. Since leaving my old home though I’ve recently become more open minded and learned to not just tolerate but be actively supportive of the LGBTQ community and I was very lucky that I came across the MHA fandom at that time in my life, cause now I can fully see that there’s nothing wrong with supporting a relationship with strong chemistry, an interesting backstory and excellent fanart from a positive fanbase. This is the purest thing I have seen come out of this ship. Which given the ship doesn’t take too much, but it’s still absolutely amazing. It’s wholesome and sweet and seems completely in character for both of them. It was amazingly animated, feeling like something that would actually be the storyboard for a real episode. It’s also an action sequence, something most 2D animators wouldn’t bother with, which makes this even more amazing. It was fabulous, and I look forward to seeing anything else you put out in the future.
