I realized I'd wasted my winter break not working on this so I finished up a majority of it in the past 2 days im gonna give myself carpal tunnel at this rate
In a nutshell: Purple dragon girl Vex was getting executed for treason. She wanted Silas, the green dragon, to get her out of the situation- she really was guilty of treason, but Silas had been able to save people before using his various connections so she figured he'd do the same for her, if only because she was his deceased sister's girlfriend. \However, it was really Silas who'd been found out, and Bracken (brown dragon) convinced him to use Vex as a scapegoat so their cover wasn't blown before they could pull off a coop.
Vex put two and two together and realized that Bracken wasn't helping the revolutionaries for the sake of freeing the enslaved, but so that they could ultimately be the one in power. Considering her girlfriend had died for this cause, she was pretty pissed. Vex was a particularly skilled and powerful Guardian, and she ended up losing control and sacrificing her own body to try and kill Bracken.
It didn't work out well for her, and long story short, her power ended up getting passed down to Cethin, who now has to deal with a very pissed off lesbian dragon who had no other choice than to latch on to a tiny fox or face even worse consequences.
I'm no wordsmith so this isn't a very elegant background story lmao
