Thank you for. your help. What is the smallest tub to start with? I don't want to go very big, and I'm considering a galvanized steel tub for my mini lily pond.

hi Shane I have a question I have a Hardy in my pond what should I do when fall comes should I cut it back to the base or should I cut it back so some of the leaves stems stick out a couple of inches? Thanks Billy from Boston

What a half-expert show. Waterlily is a singular word, for one. Second, only hardy waterlilies grow horizontally, tropical types grow upward and you plant them differently in the container. I couldn't BELIEVE that he was planting the rhizome (not a tuber) in DRY soil! All kinds of issues to follow with that. BTW, waterlilies LOVE being planted in heavy soils that are rich in well-rotted cow manure. Manure IS organic matter...

Great info. Any suggestions on how to keep koi from destroying plant? My koi brushed away all of the gravel and nibbled the tuber to death - and really fouled the pond water along the way.
