BTW, I chose those keepers as they got the most minutes for the teams that finished 1st or 2nd in the Prem, La Liga, and Bundesliga. They also all happen to play for teams that should in theory play a similar type of football to Barcelona (ball-dominant, front-foot football) I felt they were the fairest comparisons, plus a lot of other guys were injury riddled last year (Courtois, Allison).

As a Barca fan, I can guarantee there is no dumber fanbase than ours. There is always someone to blame. First it was players like Rakitić, and then he left. But then Suarez is problem, and he left also. But then Alba, Busquets and Pique were problem, and all of them left. But then Roberto and Alonso were problem even though they didn't even play. And they are gone now and we have to find someone else to blame and I guess it's Ter Stegen.

There were seasons where only two consistently good players were Messi and ter Stegen. No one else was good every single game. But somehow now one of them is the problem. What a joke.

Truly we are worst fanbase in the world.

I think Ter Stegen gives the team much more than we see. The months he was injured last season, the defense was completely disorganized. Until the team develops a central defender who knows how to organize the defense, Ter Stegen remains vital. Vibes and possible dressing room problems included.

Been a fan since 1996 and I can assure you guys Valdez was hated and always described as the weakest link in barca even through their success. ter stegan is better for sure at least that’s my opinion as someone who watched them both through the years

Ter stegan was the reason we won la liga last year. He was our best player. Seems like most people forgot that. And whose going to replace him ? Our financial condition doesn't allow us to sign a world class keeper. I would rather have him than go for a mediocre one.

Some Barca fans seem to have completely lost touch with reality. Not only is ter Stegen a very good goalkeeper, good enough to compete with the best of them, he is also way better than Valdes ever was - and Barca won everything with Valdes in goal.
