If your Facebook ads are not spending the budget - here’s the solution. You need to fix five things if your Facebook ad account is not spending. By the way, if you are sick and tired of all the problems with Facebook ads, please check out my free case study -- where I’ll show you how I generate 22k per month with YouTube ads for a product that was banned on Facebook. The link is in the description below. The first reason your Facebook ads account is not spending could be because you’re using manual bidding. Facebook calls this cost cap, which allows you to control how much you would like to spend per conversion. For example, if you run an online store and optimize for purchases, you could set your cost cap amount to a cost per purchase that will keep you profitable. Here, if you set a cost cap that’s too low, Facebook won’t serve your ads. For example, if you sell a $200 product and set the cost per cap at $10, that’s pretty unrealistic. A cost cap is a great way to control how much money you spend on Facebook and control the cost per conversion. Here’s what you can do: increase the cost cap. The way I do it, if I have a product that’s priced at $200, I will start with a cost cap of around $40, and if my budget does not start spending, I will increase the cost cap by 10% - 20% every day until my ads start delivering. Keep in mind that the advertising cost has increased tremendously. So you might need to go beyond your desirable cost per conversion. I’ve set the cost cap higher than I would like to get the cost per conversion, but Facebook was still able to bring me a reasonable cost per conversion. If you set the cost cap at $50, Facebook still might bring you a cost per conversion that’s higher than that, so keep that in mind. If the cost cap bidding does not work, and your ads are still not spending, I suggest you switch to automatic bidding. If your Facebook ads are still not spending the budget, that probably is the second reason. The second reason your Facebook ads don’t spend your budget is that your target audience is too small. Go to your Facebook ads, and ensure that your target audiences are large enough. If you’re targeting custom audiences, make sure they have decent sizes. After the iOS 14 update, all my custom audiences became smaller. If you are targeting cold audiences, make sure they are big enough. You can always combine some of your audiences to make them bigger. The third reason your Facebook ads are not spending the budget is that the optimization goal you are using couldn’t be reached. For example, if you optimize your ad account for purchases, but it’s a brand new ad account, you won’t be able to deliver the ads. I suggest you start with a campaign optimized for add-to-cart or initiate checkout. That practice was popular in the eCommerce niche. Once your ad account starts spending, you can always switch to purchases. But here is another reason why your ad account is not spending. For example, Facebook might be trying to deliver your ads, but people go to your checkout page and are just not buying your product. People on Facebook just don’t want to buy your product, and you need to either change your marketing strategy or test a different product. The problem could be very complex, but if you’ve never sold this product before, Facebook ads probably won’t be the way to sell your product. I suggest you only use Facebook ads for products selling well organically. Running Facebook ads won’t fix bad product-to-market fit. Facebook ads are pricy, so make sure you use them to scale products that are already selling. The way Facebook ads work, it’s kind of like just pouring oil into an already burning fire. If the fire has not started, you’re just wasting your oil. But if you already have a flame, Facebook ads will set the whole place on fire. The fourth reason your Facebook ads budget is not spending is that you have issues with your payment methods.
