The video on the water I enjoyed this morning. I also like to watch the video's not a fan. However they come on at such time that I don't think the young people watch them. The video this morning was on at 2:30 AM. May God bless all that are connected with the video's.

Dear God, I am a sinner...a Christian sinner. I have strayed from your path. I am no longer going by your word. And because of it, I am LOST again. I am using you to convince myself and others that I belong to you, when I'm not. I am sorry. I repent. And I want to come back to you, and walk with you for the rest of eternity. Help me find the way back to you. Send Jesus to save me. I want him living in my heart and running my life. Whatever I lose from following you is just garbage anyway. Amen.

I'm tired of living a double life. I thought I was a follower of Jesus, but it turns out I was just a fan...not a very good fan at that. No more. I want only to be a follower, no mater what.

The point is that God's epistemic situation is vastly superior to our own. Our knowledge is finite. His knowledge is infinite. Though evil is emotionally difficult, it doesn't seem to me to be logically incompatible with God's existence.

In regards to my earlier post I would check out Mike Licona's new book, "The Resurrection of Jesus: A New Historiographical Approach". But if you want to discuss this issue then let's have at it :).

I found this to be an enlightening video series on tv; Kyle Idleman speaks at our church about once a month - before "not a fan" hit the media. I can say, without a doubt, Kyle Idleman is the real deal. Please watch this series on tv; if you don't have access to it, I highly recommend you purchase it; I've watched it several times and always learn something new. This isn't an advertisement - just need to get the word out; Please Google, "Not A Fan.org".

we don't need another book people need to pick up the BIBLE and start reading it for what it is the power it has in it. if we are Christians we should be in chains for the Gospel as it says in Philippians 1. Also We all have the spirit to lead us the Advocate as it says in John 16.No Other Gospel Galatians 1:10 Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ.

I'm neither a fan nor a follower. I'm the guy who hit the dislike button.

I have a major problem with the theology that  Kyle is teaching. Nobody is justified/regenerated by following Jesus. In the book "Not a Fan" page 32, he says "When we decide to believe in Jesus without making a commitment to follow him, we become nothing more than fans." He is implying that to believe in Jesus is simply not enough to save someone.
However, the scripture gives one condition for receiving eternal life (what most people mean when they talk of "salvation") :  "And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.  For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned:but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God." ~ John 3:14-18
Also, John 3:36 says "He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life:and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him."
Again, believe is the key word in connection with eternal life. You will not find any promises of eternal life to the one that follows Jesus.
"Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life." ~ John 5:24
"Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life." ~ John 6:47
So, hopefully you can see that eternal life is given to whoever believes and not whoever follows.
Many people can see that belief is necessary, but they don't "believe" that it is enough. In other words, they don't "believe" Jesus promise is enough for them to receive eternal life. So, they will load the term "believe" with all sorts of meaning that is not designed to carry. Kyle is no different. Again on page 32 of "Not a Fan" he says "We tend to define belief as the acceptance of something as real or true. But biblical belief is more than just an intellectual acceptance or a heartfelt acknowledgement; it is a commitment to follow." And also on page 32 he reinforces this with "To truly believe is to follow."
When Jesus was speaking about false prophets he said they would look like sheep, not Anton LaVey. Remember, Satan is very subtle. He is a master at twisting the scriptures.

Right, that's a good point. This is either mythological or parabolic. But let's assume that it is mythological and that the bible is wrong. What would follow? That God doesn't exist? That Christianity is false? All that would follow is that the doctrine of biblical inerrancy is false. We could still conclude that Christianity is true without positing such a doctrine. Specifically, we could do this through the hist. argument from Jesus' rez from the dead.

Yeah, why does an all-powerful God allow suffering?I don't know.Nobody does. But do we need to? I don't really think so. Maybe, if the Christian God exists, the purpose of life is not happiness but knowledge of God? If this is true then maybe God uses suffering, directing it providentially, so that the maximal number of people who would freely come to know him would? Many other reasons given. The point is that just because we don't know the reason it doesn't follow that God and suffering conflict
