Did you know that Frozen was such a massive hit for Disney that they would have singers from different countries around the world sing a local version of the song Let It Go? It's amazing! Which one is your favorite?

Love this version. 25 languages, sung by 22 singers. 3 sang 2 languages. Now that's Impressive, by any standard. Great video.

Fun fact, the girl who sang in castellano (spanish) and catalan is named Gisela, who in 2000 was in a music competition show called Operacion triunfo (like a mix of big brother(minus drama) and idol) .. and during one of the weeks disney spain visited the show and the girls contestants got to audition for them for a contract. Gisela won that audition (not the show though) BUT since 2001 she has been voicing the dinsey movies for spanish audiences :)

I got very emotional watching this knowing the thousands of years of cultural diversity that led to these different languages now joining in a single global cultural cause making movies for our children. We now live in a truly global society. It is beautiful.

This is basically what happens when Disney pay attention to their fans' activity. Fans has been making multilingual compilation for any Disney songs they like by collecting sound tracks of various languages of same song and edit them together for years... way before Frozen even came out. I know this because watching those multilingual clips of Disney songs had been one of my almost guilty pleasure. I am pretty sure Disney took note of what happened on the net and finally had a light bulb moment when Frozen came around and went "let's show you how us professionals do this multilingual track officially!"

These are not just singers from different countries, they are the singing (or even speaking) voices of Elsa in that specific country. 😁

Sweden usally only dub kid movies now days(most adults know english anyway). But disney always nails the voice actor in their dubbing. Not just the lead roles.
Our singer in this one was fairly unknown before this movie. She did a great job!
