The PERFECT raccoon bait I have found.
Get a plastic bucket w/lid
1 large bag cherry Kool-Aid
3 cups of water - MIX WELL in the bucket.
Now add 1 cup of baking soda - yes it will fizz
Add 1/2 cup vanilla extract
add 2 cups of small marshmallows - keep mixing
add 1 1/2 cups of flour to thicken it to a paste - just keep watching while you slowly add the flour

By far this has been the BEST bait to date that I have used.

Back in 1983, here in Flint, Michigan, I had just bought a S&W model 469 It got a nickname of the "combat auto", in 9mm, I thought we had squirrels or feral cats tearing up our trash bags, I decided to stay up one night after setting out the trash and I had a pump BB-pellet rifle, I'm looking out the front window and I see a four legged critter sneaking across the street and headed for our trash bag, I aimed at this 'critter' and got a good look at it through my scope. I put my BB rifle down and got out my 9mm and placed a few 9mm rounds in what turned out to be a Badger! Needless to say, I left him there to bleed out and just before the trash truck came around just before daylight, I went out and picked the carcass up and placed it in the bag. That seemed to end the trash bags getting torn up. I just thought I'd share that with the readers here.

What they say about the rapid movement after a head shot is that the spinal cord is always turned on in a sense and the brain is what controls the spinal cord take the brain out of the equation and the spinal cord just goes hence all the convulsions. Nice shooting don't worry they don't feel a thing!
