Wandrd has released a new type of fanny pack. It has a manly design and highly water-resistant materials. It also converts into a sling for those of us who prefer to wear slings instead, but the sling transformation does not look like it was a design priority in this case. Overall, the capacity is decent and we like the waterproofness of the D1 fanny pack.

Get the Wandrd D1 Fanny pack if…

✅ You're looking for a dope fanny pack.

✅ You're looking for a fanny/sling, but you're OK with it not being a perfect sling.

✅ If water resistance is your priority.

**********

DO NOT get the Wandrd D1 Fanny pack if…

❌ If you want a sling. This is clearly a fanny pack first, and a sling a distant second. If you are looking for a sling, check out our roundup of what we think are the 7 best slings of this year ... 👇🏼

Excellent review. I bought this recently and I was not able to figure out how to covert it to a sling… until I watched your very clear explanation. Thank you!

I have been using the Wandrd Fanny D1 daily for a year and a half now and I love the pack! It's small enough to put your keys/wallet etc but also doesn't scream STEAL ME. It also can be packed out a bit if you needed to without looking awkward and the grab handles are amazing since I wear it sling style. Great review as always. Really enjoy watching your videos!

Thanks so much for an actual honest critique of this fanny/sling...was looking at getting this as a sling but you have changed my mind now. Wish more reviews were this honest.

I use the fanny probably about 90% as a fanny so the D1 is perfect for me. This might not be as common but the orientation that I have it in is that the bag is actually behind me as it is perfect for when I bike around places. One thing to note that most other reviews haven't mentioned (makes sense because its more of a custom solution for me and probably not for everyone) is that the loop where you put the hook sling converter is actually perfect to put my keys on. In my orientation where I have the fanny facing my back, I can hook my keys (that are on a carabiner) right onto the hoop on the right side and the location of the hook mimics the exact same spot as a jean belt loop where I would usually put my keys. This is handy if it is rainy or snowy (I live in canada) or if the fanny is packed super tight and I don't want to even open my fanny to access my keys.

I even don’t notice there’s an hook at the inside for wearing as a sling style. Thanks for your video! 🍻

Fanny packs can be useful for holding small items, but the hardest thing to carry is water. They make back packs with a water supply, but these backpacks are then not so useful for other things. The best place to carry water is at hip level, so it would be nice if they made a one-gallon fanny pack.

Hola! Muchas gracias. Un saludo desde España

Thanks for the review. I own this fanny pack and honestly still don’t understand how to pull the strap through the back to make it shorter. My manly son-in-law gave it to me and I really like it but still confused.

Had 2 of this. Loved it. Only problem is, that the coating started to wear off after about a month on both of them. Anyone else had this problem?

Mostly I just watch your reviews cos you guys are nuts 😆

(Also thanks for bleeping all the swearing, [and I realise that's kinda a joke]. It's not like I don't swear and don't hear a lot of swearing at work etc but I watched a video this morning that had really good info but the SWEARING was quite off putting)

Would love to hear your opinion on the code-of-bell x-pak evo review. I am wondering if this sling would work for me… and your reviews make a lot of sense to me. Good review but I agree I am more a backpack, duffel… and possibly sling guy more than a Fanny.

hi aaron, my name is oren
im enjoing your videos and thought u r the guy to ask

im filming with go pro no DSLR camera and my gear is
selfi stick -- 20 CM
tripod - 19 - CM
camera - gopro
camera - gopro media mod
camera - gopro water case
microphone - RODE videomicro
light cube
ND filters - 3 total
batteries - 2
mount - chest
floating wrist strap

i saw all the models of the slings (6L i guess will be enough)
Thule / Instinct / Wandard roam / Peak Design / Moment Rugged
/ Nomatic

and im not sure if they are right for me because they all for DSL cameras and i need somthing that is wider for the selfie stick hopfully large enough to be with the camera gopro intact

the other option i though about was the orgenizer whice is like a suitcae witha lot of straps which is amazing but the downside is that its not a pouch that is easy to carry

please please please, couls u help me find a soloution ?

thanks alot

How does this compare to the aer city sling. I’m debating between the two. Thanks.
