When looking at the Ottoman Sultan's legal marriages, everyone seems to forget Osman had 2 legal wives. Was legal marriage still against tradition? Or did that law go out the window after Suleyman I, Selim II and Ahmet I legally married. But the fact that Meylisah and Akile were free Muslim women was probably different?

Why was Ayse made Haseki and not Meylisah? She was mother of his eldest Prince and his most beloved and influential Consort?

It is also possible that Osman had another wife too-granddaughter of Pertev Pasa(her name is unknown).
Pertev Pasa was husband of Aya Hatun (cocubine of Sehzade Mehmed and mother of Humashah Sultan).
Aya was married to Pertev Pasa, after Mehmed died.
Many historians don't agree that the marriage happened, or it's possible that Osman planed to get married with her, but didn't succeded.
Nothing is known about that woman.
