Interesting DIY approach, but unfortunately I don't think the safety distances between the resistor snake and the Positive HV tip are sufficient. In case of full 20kV, theres a very high chance of arc-over between the HV potential ends because the resistor snake begins and ends at almost the same spot. The milled gaps won't really help. What would help way more would be instead of long vertical lines of resistors, to arrange the snake in very short and horizontal lines, progressing from the tip to the bottom of the probe. The potential difference between the resistor lines will decrease significantly and your negative potential will be at the handle instead of the tip. Then i would probably be brave enough to use such a probe. And also of course after treating the 3D printed case with some resin to avoid poor insulation arc-over through the microscopic gaps of the 3D print. High voltage doesnt miss any opportunities to jump where it can :)

I'll be honest I was expecting one of those music only channels with half-baked ideas. This is actually well thought out but have you ensured the insulation can withstand the voltages you intend to read? I'm sure you have but high voltage is up there with sulfuric acid on the pucker factor for me man. Three years later how has it held up for you?
