It’s the TLC show about the ultra-conservative family with a bunch of kids and extremely strict rules about dating and clothes—no, the other one. The TLC show Welcome to Plathville depicts the lives of Barry and Kim Plath and their nine kids, so comparisons to the Duggars of 19 Kids and Counting are inevitable.

The first season proved quite controversial, as the Plaths have a contentious relationship with their daughter Moriah, simply because she wants to live life like a normal teenager, and their relationship with their married son Ethan isn’t much better. So they sheltered their children from the real world for all their lives but now have a reality show on TLC ?? Something really doesn't jive here ..I find the lack of emotion with the mother over the death of her son that she caused disturbing..that's something that you just don't get over all of the sudden..

That story of Joshua's death doesn't sit right. FIrst off, why are you letting a 1 1/2 year old baby run unsupervised? How did she not feel the car hit him? How did he get from far away from the car to in front of the car without her noticing?? Something in the milk ain't clean.

A couple more things with Kim: Why is she forcing her 15 year old daughter to be a mother? Kim never cooks or deals with the younger kids? It's like she doesn't acknowledge that she has more children. That 15 year old is going to hate her when she gets old enough to realize what happened.

Lastly, Kim is the only overweight one in the family. I don't buy for one minute she's not eating sugar and other things she banned from the house. Otherwise her body wouldn't look like that.

Kim and Barry caused this issue. Shelter them too much, and you get a Josh Duggar. Raise them as you feel is right, but prepare them for the real world. You won't be there forever. What will happen then? Trust how you raised them, but let them live.

it's crazy how Olivia said "until you have dealt with narcissist behavior, you have no idea how to break out" & IT IS SO TRUE. I think it's also very common in these strict Christian familys. My bf grew up Christian & super strict. Him along with his parents & his older sister are narcissists & it's so hard to deal with them. I can image how she feels cause I already deal with so much drama with my bf's family. It sucks but I need to break away :(

Wow, love this show. Tough situation. I see they wanted to protect their children... AWESOME! But letting them hit adulthood not knowing the outside world is a TERROR. What did Micah say? "How do you get us ready for the outside world by keeping it from us.' or something like that. SO TRUE! Dang, did the parents think the would NEVER leave the nest?Or does she want adults to obey children's rules FOR LIFE? Beautiful family, but I am worried for them.

Moriah is the normal one of the family and her parents need to let her go and let her live bc she seems uncomfortable and her brothers and sisters does look like they feel the same way as she does . But her parents r so strikes about everything about the outside world and they should not be that way at all and it seems like they r abusing their kids by those rules and no one should fellow them that closely at all
