To round to a significant figure the 1st figure it must not start with a 0. The question they give you is how many numbers you should look for. An example could be to round to 1sf, 2sf or a 3sf, to find this, Look at the 3rd non-zero number and if it is more than 5 round up, If it is less than 5 is when you round down. That's how you should get your answer.
