I've decided to finish games I never managed to from my childhood! Now, I'm on Emperor: Rise of the Middle Kingdom, another city-building game developed by Impressions Games and BreakAway Games, and published by Sierra Entertainment in 2002. Let's play!

All missions will be cut shorter; I'm not trying to upload as many videos as I can.

Game provided by my friend who runs Wira Games & Hobbies in Malaysia, a store dedicated to the Miniature Wargaming Hobby and Table Top RPGs!

Being able to continue in a previous city where you left off is such a good mechanic.

Glad you uploaded a new episode. Some tips (I've bought this game now, too and spent waaay too much time with it):
- When you clear trees away near stones, things that associate with stone (acrobats, inspectors) can be built near that. It's propably the same with the labor camp (so just clear away the wood near the elevation
- When you have an abundance of food and you want to switch quality, just destroy the food shop and make a new one. This way you don't have to wait for months until the current food runs out
- I have districts very similar to yours and in my experience everyone needs about 1 hemp farm and 2 food farms (later on about the double). When you have too much and you see your cartmen are waiting in big numbers, you really should construct additional warehouses/mills to stock your food, otherwise it's just wasted whereby you could otherwise just give it to the gods.

Your city builder series sure are the best! I always get very excited when a new video of the emperor/pharaoh series is uploaded. Nothing tops lying in bed with a hangover and listening to your soothening voice messing around with ancient cilivizations.

Pro tip: double tapping the hotkey '8' will automatically open the ancestor's overview. This makes it a bit easier to remember the heroes since it takes less effort!

You only need 35 laborers for the monument, the max number of the worker camp. Put a warehouse next to it to get the materials. Only keep one working and close the other 2 down. Switch between whichever place you need open and close the other 2. Super easy and fast.

The labor camps like rocks, but they don't like trees.

The feng shui issue of labor camp is due to its incompatibility with wood and water., and it's rather large in size, easy to include incompatible elements. Earth is represented as rocks, but it's also compatible (tolerant) with Fire (dry land), and Metal (Ores). It's green up that hill is due to it's on dry land and no tree around, as well as near rock. It's just too much grass land (water table too high) with trees here and there near where you put the monument.

Huang Di can bless your ceramics kilns I believe (and Nu Wa can bless clay pits). They just have to be adjacent to the things they bless. It can help if you need a certain good. Also, you can dismiss heroes walking in the city by clicking them and selecting the option. It helps you out in the long term since heroes do lose favor with you the longer they are in a city (in this episode Huang Di left when his favor went down to Contented).

I checked some of the in-game help guides: it appears that if a monument is built and it honours a particular god, they can never get upset after the monument is completed.

Annoyingly, some monuments are laborious to build (hint: Handan in the Zhou Dynasty is a horrible mission -_-), but at least they tied monuments and religion together, which makes it far easier to get those "months of heroes" goals.

Also, the months of heroes goal is actually a bit strangely worded: it doesn't need to be concurrent months, but just a cumulative number, so you could spread out the giving of gifts over a longer period of time, with as many gods as you want.

I think earth likes dry areas, like the inspector towers, but you have to remove any nearby tree.
Also. Huang Di: in addition to provide acupuncture access, he also gives ceramics to your houses.

You can delete the trees around certain areas and they'llgo from "wood-based" to "earth- based".
