Footage of Freddie Flintoff making an emotional speech ahead of England’s ODI clash with Ireland last month has been released by the ECB.

The cricket legend turned TV presenter has been recovering from injuries sustained during a high-speed crash while filming for Top Gear in December 2022.

Flintoff was seen for the first time since the horrific incident in September, as he quietly returned to cricket, working with the England team.

In new footage shared on social media, the 2005 Ashes hero is seen delivering a moving speech to the team, as well as presenting Tom Hartley with his ODI cap.

Great to see Freddy back out and about after what will have been a difficult time for him and his family.

I'm lucky enough to have placed cricket against Freddie many times and even on the same team on One occasion. I've sat next next to the fella sharing a drink and playing cards. A truly Wonderful Man, so down to earth, Humble and has the time for everyone.

Glad he’s ok. Looks good too. The papers had clearly been selective with the pictures they showed last month. He looks much better here.

Glad Freddie looks better now! BBC hasn’t broadcast the crash as yet, and maybe never will! All I know is that it must have been horrifying ! Glad the show has been scrapped! Long over due if you as me!

I like this man but he has had a major shock i seen it in the close ups of his face his eyes look really sad he has has some hellish injuries nose lip mouth and he also has a big scar it the back of his jaw you can clearly see it in some photos the work to fix his face is amazing it will be slow but i believe he will get back to looking 99% like what he did before i wish him all the best the scars will heal but its his mental health that's more the worry for me wishing him all the best .. great guy .

What were his injuries? I've read he broke a rib and it looks like he'd had a broken nose and cut of any of those were life-changing? Genuine question...not downplaying any injuries at all

Best stick to cricket, apparently he was only doing 23mph when he turned the Morgan three wheeler over.

Having lads that would fail a driving test drive supercars on a show is a bad idea. The mush decided not to wear a helmet too & is getting compensated 9mil
