In this video, Gibson's Master Luthier and Product Development Manager Jim DeCola demonstrates Gibson's impressive use of CNC Machines to route control cavities in their Gibson USA guitars, providing for a more accurate and SAFER process. In this case we see a bed of Gibson SG Standard '61s receive their pickup and control cavity routes by the automated CNC machine before moving to hand finishing. What an incredible display of technology!
We also hear about the reason for gluing the set neck BEFORE routing the control cavities, unlike how it was done in the past.
There's also nothing like seeing a moving ceiling of beautiful Gibson USA guitars in progress!
