It doesn't matter if one leads to the left or to the right; this guy speaks the truth about economics.

he talks about not buying any securities that don't pay dividends, but later on says gold is the only security he own that doesn't pay a divined .

the reason mining stocks cant reduce costs is because the low hanging fruit of gold deposits are gone. The amount of energy required to mine out and refine the gold oz is going up faster than the NOMINAL value of the gold in "dollars". The market is deeply manipulated and the price is depressed so that the central banks around the world can maximize their holdings.... paper goes "pop" and gold makes an account. Price goes waaaay up, and the mines kick into business again.

There is no law that states gold mining stocks must follow gold. If it become harder and hard to mine gold the miners would be hurt but that would not hurt gold, rather it would give upward pressure to gold.

im 75% into gold/silver. You would have to be crazy investing in any stocks or bonds right now, and holding cash is a big no no.

Just my opinion and I have nothing other than the fact he does not seem to understand empathy and is extremely narcissistic.

I also saw him say "I love seeing the fear in a mothers eyes when her child cannot read because I know I can get money out of her" in reference to his learning soft wear.

Social programs stop revolution so might just be smart about keeping the lower orders in check. It doesn't show empathy.

I've watched quite a few of the Canadian Dragons Den and it is my favourite one. Canadians are fantastic people and I would leave the UK to go there if I believed I could find work there. But I have to say I genuinely believe this O'Leary character is a psychopath. Most people only know of the psychopaths that kill people but there have been studies and many succeed in business. This is a man with no human empathy who is hugely narcissistic. A truly awful human being.

He makes sense on his dividend strategy, very conservative investor. Only he has too much trust in paper money.

Does Kitco have the slightest idea what causes PM's to rise and fall? They always seem to have the answer two seconds after something happens, but I'm persuaded into thinking that they just make up the causes.

we dont need a gold standard because we are in a global economy? what does he think the bretton woods system was? nor does he understand the restraint it adds to the system, either that or he will not admit to it.

My impression of him is that he is a very prudent Business man, he's also a very blunt person. But I never realy got the impresstion he was a psychopath. He does a news show called the "The Lang & O'Leary Exchange", and from the little I've watched of it the guy is very much a fiscal conservative, and holds Moderate Social Liberal views. During some discussions he agreed the need for the existence of social programs. But very much concerned about sustainability of any program.

Rachel Parent brought me here ;)

Soooo...let's see.

This guy does not like to invest in the USA or Canada because the GDP is not growing.

This guy likes to proclaim how wonderful GMO food is while trying to bash a 14 year old that ends up making him look like a fool.

Pretty much every other country besides the US and Canada have banned or placed severe restrictions on GMO food or at least clearly label them for consumers.

Okay. I think I am starting to understand what's going on now

Well when you're worth over a billion dollars paper money's not a problem. It's been good to him, so of course he likes it. Unfortunately, we can't all be professional traders and it's not fair to the rest of society to debase their savings with fiat notes.

Now now children, lets not forget he's in the useless paper business....

I hated this guy mostly I guess do to his shrewdness on 'Tank'. Also him telling participants "You are dead to me !!!."
Now I am cool with 'Mr W'. I like his ideology, presentation and most of all...his business knowledge, very simplistic, his Mother taught him well. So yeah Mr.Wonderful he shall be...in my book.
