Wynne, Arkansas Tornado and extensive damage drone survey

A rapidly moving tornado hit the Wynne, Arkansas area this afternoon. Footage of the tornado from about a mile away and lots of drone aftermath from Wynne after the tornado hit the town.

I worked for FEMA years ago, always amazes me how these tornadoes can jump around and leave houses untouched next to leveled structures. These are scary images, praying for everybody in that area 🙏

Can anyone explain why tornados usually move from SW to NE generally? I am new to the storm chasing community and always wonder why it takes that path? Or am I just too new to not understand it. Thanks for chasing storms and the whole community spreading the info on socials, you have all saved many lives with pre notification before the sirens.

Nice examples of how these things behave (and why people get complacent). The last part of this shows nearly complete devastation 1-200 yds wide and .25-.5 mi long. Even in one of our infamous 'tornado alleys' the chance of getting hit (directly) is pretty low.
However, being complacent is not advisable. I heard a pretty high injury count from LR this afternoon. T hit around rush hour(s).
It's easy enough to check radar on your phone/etc. and stay put rather than rush out to your car and make things worse or be a casualty. For those of you who are new to Ternader country, welcome, and do some research on your area. These storms are usually moving at 30-60mph and don't linger.
