Through their years of wandering, they were able to pick up a rich catalog of songs passed through the traveling / busking community.
In 2012, their mutual best friend and lead singer of folk-punk band Profane Sass, passed away when he fell off a train in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

In a way the Bridge City Sinners are a homage to keep his spirit alive and continue passing along the music they all sang together on the streets, hidden in trains, and in living rooms across the continent.
They formed the Bridge City Sinners in the Winter of 2016.

i lost my best friend. he woulda loved this song. i heard it when weird circumstances led me to a bar we drank at a few times. I had a tall beer that we both woulda prolly ordered and this specific version of your song came out on the tv and it caught me. i thought id never find it, i looked for it using some lyrics and didn't find it that night. i just found it today about 4 days later. i'm so happy i found it. it has few things that remind me of him. that rustic good vibe. talking about hearing that news and falling to my knees. and most of all he always called me "brother" everytime we hung " tell me about it brother" "brother" this "brother" that..so when i heard "brother brother brother you are not alone" i felt like it was him telling me that from heaven. thank you so much for this song to both the artist and to bridge city sessions for playing it.
