"What ever the hell he is trying to do on Night Train, Clickity, Clacked right on past me."

This was the best summation of a novel yet. And as soon as you started talking about the characters and what they experienced from train car to train car, I immediately thought of Snow Piercer.

My biggest problem with this book is that it reads like a script. He didn't take the full Advantage of the fact that novels can penetrate the psyche and give us interiority. I could picture everything but there was no suspense.

I'm glad that you also picked up on that. This was a DNF for me.

Hmm, based on what you've said it sounds like a lot of missed, unfocused potential. The best I've heard of this premise is not a book, but a cartoon show called Infinity Train. That does a *lot* what its premise; it's aimed for kids, but it covers a lot of mature themes with a lot of influences by Agatha Christie, NeverEnding Story, Philip K Dick, Doctor Who and so on. At least, that's what comes to my mind lol

Just a few minutes into your review. Haven’t read the book. But I see a wizard of oz analogy. “Garland”, a part mechanical person, and one with an animal? Following a path ? Hmmm

I didn’t like this book, at first it seemed interesting but then just kept going and it was like nothing was happening, I did finish it and the story it’s self was very confusing, waste of time.

Night Train? Mysterious Train? I bet two of the protagonists are James Brown & Elvis. My current face is not the same one I was born with. For a start my head is larger (hair amount . . . similar). Also, I have a moustache and glasses. Torpor on the Borient Express? You may be more witty than this author.
