Rescued sailors under scrutiny for not using emergency beacon

There are new questions about two women who say they were stranded on a sailboat for months in the Pacific Ocean. A Navy ship rescued Jennifer Appel and Tasha Fuiava last week, but the Coast Guard says the two had an emergency beacon on board and never turned it on. Vladimir Duthiers reports.

Lost at sea for 5 MONTHS! People in America go crazy one day without power following a hurricane and these ladies chilled for 5 months without turning on the one thing that would have had them rescued a whole lot sooner!!??!!

Oh no dont use the emergency device, it costed $110, yea your right lets float around for a few months and lose weight, or not lose weight, even the dog looked well fed. The name of the boat is definitely not the "Jenny Craig". Ha

anyone can buy a sailboat and without any know how or training what so ever sail off shore and bingo bongo bango..without proper training and experience sailing anywhere is very precarious..

Stop making a problem over what is a simple answer. Maybe they thought they needed to keep that from working until the last minute. They said they tried their best to get the boat to a safe place. Just check the boat. And investigate the boat and that it. Make sure there were no drugs or anything else. They just did not know what to do. So, they were winging it trying to be the empowered women they trying to be.
