Drop Tower: Scream Zone off-ride HD Kings Island

This is one of two Intamin giant gyro drop towers located in the USA. The other one is at Kings Dominion in Virginia. Although both look alike, there are quite a few differences. At 315 feet (96m) , this one is 10 feet (3m) taller than the one at Kings Dominion and this one rotates on the ascent to the top whereas the other does not. Even though this one is taller, the one in Virginia has an eight foot (2.4m) longer drop because the brakes are located lower down on the tower. This also gives the one at Kings Dominion a greater top speed of 72 mph (116 km/h), compared to 67 mph (108 km/h) for this one.
Kings Island is located near Cincinnati in Mason, Ohio.

I was on this ride 10 years ago. I remember being at the very top of the tower... waiting for it to drop.
The anticipation is really terrifying... and it was windy and I could feel the tower was swaying back & forth. That was more terrifying than the drop itself.

The person I was with made me ride this even though I didnt want to and then when we were waiting at the top they looked over at me and said, "maybe this was a bad idea."

After you hear the small click when you stop at the top (which is sometimes hard to hear) start counting to 7. You drop exactly on the 7.

I always go on this ride first when I go to Kings Island. I immediately regret it soon after. It's all fun and games until you get close to the top.

I went to King's Island many times one summer, and it took me a long time to find the courage to ride this one. But the day I did, my stomach was all in knots. About a third of the way up, I was freaking out that maybe I made a mistake. Then it just kept going up. By the time we were at the top, my heart was pounding more fiercely than it ever had before. You don't really understand how high it is until you are actually on it. That drop...it was more exhilarating than any of the other rides I had been on. Terrifying as it was, I immediately wanted to ride it again. I did. Lol, it was more terrifying the second time because I knew what to expect.

This is the same ride that broke down when my cousin was on it, it got stuck at the top for 15 minutes and out of nowhere it just dropped without anyone knowing, They all thought they was falling to their deaths because the ride broke

I got on this ride with my sister maybe in 2005-2006. I was terrified when I realized how high we were and closed my eyes. She told me to open them right before it dropped and I thought my eyeballs were about to pop out but I enjoyed it. RIP TEE❤

REVIEW: Personally this ride was epic. You slowly rise to the top and get an incredible view like the Eiffel tower. Rate 7/10 scary because as soon as that drop hits, s### goes down. Weightlessness and the full experience for 4-5 seconds. When I went on it, the straps felt insecure but at least they were to protect you, right?

If you're afraid of heights, or afraid of brake failure, this shouldn't be on your list xP
