Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida is in India, where he has met Indian leader Narendra Modi. Both discussed bilateral ties including technology cooperation, defense equipment and business partnerships. Relations between Tokyo and Delhi have only grown closer in recent years, especially with the emergence of China as a pre-eminent power in the region. What connects the two democracies and how does the Ukraine war affect the ties between Tokyo and New Delhi?

All the credit goes to Abe san for seeing the current state of the world so accurately in 2004. He was the one to start discussions of the Quad and convinced India to participate in it.

🇯🇵 Japan gave Sri Lanka next to 0% interest rate loans, unlike China's 6%. Despite BRIC, 🇮🇳 India knows who the real generous country is. Besides, high speed train projects from Japan are more trustworthy than China's BRI.

Japan has been very helpful for India’s economy. Major manufacturing industries were set up by them and the metro rails in many cities were funded by them.

Japan already has lots of investments in India, and since both countries are worried about one country (china), we have to see what happens next

Even before China, India Japan very supportive of each other. India very happy to help Japan with its agenda and vice versa with respect to China.

But after Abe and due to Ukraine, a ceiling has been reached. Next step is mutual defense and just not able to get anywhere close. It is possible in bilateral format than multilateral.

Japan absolutely needs allies as many as possible to prevent a contingency which would be possibly made by China, against Okinawa and Taiwan.

India is pivoting towards quad away from brics, , , , the Indian public though is still suspicious of west (Cause of Pakistan ties) but Modi is definitely trying to strike a balance .Lets hope for the best . I have anyways always had great respect for Japan...they always were friendly to us.
