This vintage lighter was made more than 50 years ago in the Soviet Union. it's design is a replica of a popular French model by Silver Match, it features a nice automatic mechanism and a refillable butane reservoir.

Such a lighter is called a «LenEmalier»(«ЛенЭмальер»). They were produced in Leningrad. It's a very beautiful thing. That's about what my dad had.

Very nice, it's even got the cruiser Aurora on it. Aurora is the warship that allegedly fired the first shot of the October revolution.

Edit: Aurora was built during the time of the Russian Empire in 1903. She participated in the Battle of Tsushima during the Russo-Japanese war being one of the few Russian ships that survived the battle. In 1917 Aurora was stationed to protect the Winter Palace in St. Petersburg, but switched sides after some mutiny and fired on the winter palace instead, in truth the shots were blank, but it marked the signal for the start of the October Revolution. The rest of her story is too long to write here... Currently she's a museum in St. Petersburg to commemorate the October Revolution
