I filled mine 1/3 with grass clippings, 1/3 with fruit/veggies scraps I had saved in Ziploc bags in the freezer, and 1/3 potting soil
Works amazing and I never have to feed my plants ❤

I would recommend using something that is less likely to break down into micro plastics, such as plastic bottles filled with unrecyclable plastic film, sealed at the cap. Because they're packed full of sequestered plastic, they won't collapse, but they're still lighter than the soil they're displacing. This type of bottle filled with sequestered plastic is called an "eco brick."

I just got an idea from watching this…love the concept of using the containers to map out and hold the space for the plants…because I like to garden as well I would use the containers that you filled with dirt and use them as seed starter containers. All you would have to do is plop a seed in them! Would save the time of filling containers first! Thank you!!

Why not use mulch!
I use it in all my large flower pots.
And it helps keep the soil moist. Beautiful choice of flowers.
