Scott also shares his insights on when it might be beneficial to allow a nurse case manager on your case and provides valuable tips for dealing with them. If you're facing a work injury case, this video will help you understand your rights and options.

Scott DeSalvo is a leading personal injury attorney in Chicago with extensive experience in workers' compensation cases. He is dedicated to helping injured individuals navigate the complex legal process and get the compensation they deserve.

A nurse case manager is assigned by the workers' compensation insurance company to monitor and manage an injured worker's medical care. You or your attorney have the right to decide whether to allow a nurse case manager on your case. The primary goal of the nurse case manager is to save money for the insurance company, often by limiting medical care and expediting return to work.

While some attorneys permit nurse case managers under strict rules, others completely refuse them, which can lead to the insurance company terminating benefits and necessitating court disputes. Nurse case managers are not there to help the injured worker; they are paid by the insurance company to minimize costs, not to ensure the worker's optimal recovery.

I make these videos so injured people know what they are dealing with. If you'd like to know more, I created a FREE Injury DVD and Book called "The Five Biggest Secrets of Illinois Injury and Accidents Cases and Claims". I offer it to injured people for 100% no cost and no obligation.

Besides workers comp, do I have to talk to a case manager? I feel like they’re stalking and harassing me. Do I have privacy rights to opt out? I see no benefit to myself having them in the middle of my medical care between me and my doctors. I’m not answering their calls anymore yet they call 2-3 x’s a week for the last 3 months filling up my answering machine. They’ve even tracked me down in the hospital! Always under the disguise of wanting to help me. Wanting to review every little meditation I’ve been prescribed. I want to opt out and have them stop calling me but don’t want to lose my medical benefits they I pay high costs for.
