Not really sure how any of that was the ref’s fault. If one of the players are being rude then they should be told about it and perhaps deducted points. They’re there to play snooker and the ref didn’t do anything wrong, from what I could see.

Ronnie’s one of the most incredible players, but he’s always came across as a massive asshole to me. Sadly, people will still blindly defend him no matter what.

Whilst there is a history between Olivier and Ronnie I guarantee Ronnie was animated in here partly due to the fact that this whole tournament was filmed for his Netflix Documentary. He was mic'd up the whole time for it.

This and the hug at the end were partly for juicy pieces for the Netflix Doc imo..

Of course he had to be warned there and then. Anyone suggesting otherwise is deluded (to be polite) as to how refereeing something goes. Besides the advantage conceded in football/soccer, where you do it exclusively to not benefit the infractor, it's always like this. You don't see refs in the NBA wait for the interval to issue a technical foul to a player, nor anywhere else. Ronnie is a great player, but please take you blinders off. And this includes Eurosport and other commentators that just for the sake of access will never criticize him.

Say Ronnie, after deserving a warning here, flipped the finger to a person in the audience, he couldn't lose the frame, because it'd been the first warning.

Judd asking if he couldn't have done it after the game, is gentleman like, but it is not up to players to make and uphold rules, so that's a moot point either. I'm winning a soccer game 7-0 and I'm about to hit a Penalty Kick when some other player runs up to the ref and decks him.. I might be very well annoyed that my moment of focus was disturbed, and even feel bad for the other team losing by a landslide. That doesn't change the other player having to be sent off.
