Does nobody else notice that the song portrays heroes as people who basically didn't have a choice in saving people because they had the necessary skills and compassion?? It makes it feel more real and serious to me.

I have to say, I have been listening to this song for the past 4-5 years. And now that I am in highschool struggling. I never thought it would hit this different. I am a struggling freshman with severe anxiety, and possible depression. I am trying the best I can to stay caught up and not lose credits my first year of highschool. Along with dealing with my narcissistic parents and trying to find time for my girlfriend. Along with a part time job. Not to mention I am stressing for my English EOC tomorrow morning. I am honestly mentally and physically exhausted. And this song gave me the energy I needed to stay up and finish this late work and go to school tomorrow proud and ace that EOC! Thank you for the boost!

This song got me through a really hard time this year. I was listening to a Playlist YouTube made for me which had a lot of nightcore songs including this one. School was causing me a lot of stress, I chose to go irl because I didn't like online, but the class I was put in had none of my friends and I felt really lonely at times. I had a few interactions with the people in the class but during lunch period since I couldn't go to other classes I just sat there lonely, and stressed from school. My siblings relationship with my parents had been at it's worst and no matter how hard I tried it wouldn't get better. I was always sad and would randomly cry in the bathroom for way to long. One day I was at my lowest late at night doing an art project. I kept messing up and I couldn't focus, I take my academics very seriously and I was confused. I spent hours crying not knowing what to do, I prayed for help, walked around, then in the lowest I could possibly be, this song's chorus came on. It made me want to be a legend, I felt like I had so much to do in this world and no time to waste on being sad, how else would I become a legend. I didn't want to be forgotten. My life started going up after that one moment. I started talking to my classmates so I could make use of what I had, I didn't want to have no friends to talk to the whole year, and I eventually befriended them all. Life was getting brighter and I was feeling better everyday. Later life was making me a bit down again and I wondered what made me so happy and in a good mood the year before. So I thought I would listen to the Playlist I made on Spotify that I hadn't listen to in a year. At the time I was into kpop so I Playlist was filled with bts and I felt better within two seconds of listening. I am now still a fan of kpop and am so dear to it. I now know that to pit yourself in a good mood you have to put yourself in a good environment. Clean your room, listen to happy upbeat music, force yourself to smile when there is no reason to smile. I heard a saying that went "in life you either laugh or cry, pick one". So in all situations, arguments, conflict, disagreement, I am always smiling and laughing. Sometimes you have to force yourself to be happy, then eventualy you truly become happy, and can focus on the more important things in life like, health, school, work, and other things. Most of the negative things that happen in your life a due to misunderstandings or not seeing another person's point of view. I recommend that if you are in a tough place in your life to be more open-minded to others. Be mature by knowing what is and isn't worth arguing for. Make things a mutual agreement, not everything has to be a fight. And lastly, if your who music Playlist is about drugs, sex, love, a bunch of swearing, and NOT upbeat. Change it. I recommend more upbeat and good vibes people like bts, pentagon, nct, Bruno Mars, Ed sheeren, stromae, etc. That's about it. Pretty long but I hope it had an affect on you. Main point: maturity and looking at things realisticly/from other people's point of view is what will calm your life down and make you have things more figured out. My family has a better relationship, I feel proud everyday, and I await what my future leads to.
